Life has been and will always be a picnic for us . . .
Our defining moment came when one day we two sisters sat reminiscing over high tea in Manhattan, going over our whirlwind lives as children and then teenagers, traveling all over the world.
With parents in the diplomatic service, we are lucky to have lived in several countries and collect many happy memories.
As we sat sipping tea, we laughed at the stories we told each other... like of the time when our home-made tree-swing broke (with one of us seated in it!) in Accra, Ghana, in front of a crowd of children we were desperately trying to impress. Or of the times when we would go swimming at our favorite Okosombo Beach and relish those mysterious & delicious ‘flying saucer’ sandwiches which, we later learned, were just grilled cheese and tomato sandwiches!
And of the time in Islamabad, Pakistan, when that country - at war with a neighbour - forced us to duck under tables and wonder why, with so much damage all around, our school still stood intact!
We smiled at our childhood in Kabul, Afghanistan, during a time when there were no televisions & we would spend many a spring day watching colorful kites line the sky like confetti…. and in Tehran, Iran, where we would secretly hitch-hike our way to the bazaar with friends when we were supposed to be cramming for exams.
And we remembered the excitement and anticipation in London, England, of turning 18 so we would get those long-awaited invitations to Buckingham Palace to attend Garden Parties, Receptions and Balls!
As we sat laughing, we recalled our frantic searches for clothes, shoes & purses to wear to our beach outings & to evening parties & that was when we decided to work together to design bags for all occasions.
Our current collection – mainly cork - is made for the new mom to give her options that will make her look gorgeous without effort but at the same time our purses & totes are ideal for the woman who may not necessarily be a mom!
